Don’t worry am back soon

• June 7th, 2009

Hi. Fear not fellow jedi. I am going to be posting a podcast in the next week and will be looking at the idea of health and well-being and its effect on Magick.

I have been having time out, bdue to work commitments and also to have some time to reflect and stand back from my magickal practice. It is sort of like a painter standing back and looking at the canvass. Sometimes one needs time away to appreciate the work more fully. Once that has been done, the great work may continue.

I have had some really helpful e-mails from listeners who have enjoyed the podcasts. Please remember that I only do this in my spare time, so please be patient.

Take care.

May the force be with you...

Where Have I Been?

• March 27th, 2009

Sorry for being a bit tardy, people. I have been cloistering myself away doing some reflection and thinking. I will have a new podcast on the site really soon and I intend to try and look at discussing the subject of martial arts, fighting and jediism. I basically believe that there is an intrinsic link between and act of magic and martial arts.

I have been learbing lots and lost about the tree of life and trying to understand some of the meanings. In my journey into magick, I am looking to try and adopt different belief systems that fit with my thinking. This isn't to say that magick and spirituality should become a pick-and-mix, but I do believe that magick should feel "right".

It is sort of like cooking. It is different for everyone and we all prefer differences in the ingredients. I think it could be like making a chilli. Some of us don't like garlic, some of us want it hotter than the sun, some of us like it with soured cream. At the end of the day, if the result is you have made a chilli that makes you happy, you have created a successful result.

The parallel may be, for example, if I were doing a binding spell and didn't want to chant the phrases suggested as a rhyme. I believe that if your intent is to follow the same procedure, you will create a result of your own making. The counter-argument would be that not learbing the spells doesn't create the correct result. I'll leave that for you to decide!

Jedi Meditation with Magick

• March 7th, 2009

In this post, what I am looking to do is to give you a grounding in the basics of mediational technique that I have picked up from Kabbalah and working with Chakras. In it I will try and show you how you can let go of your thoughts and clear your minds. Remember in the Empire Strikes Back when Yoda said that Luke can only listen to The Force, when he has cleared his mind.

It is this point that we can begin to tap into the will of our own force and the force around us...

Reflections for the next Podcast

• February 25th, 2009

I felt that the last podcast was a bit rambly, and I didn't across what I wanted to. What I would like to focus on for my next podcast will be to try and go all jedi and focus on what I would deem as Jedi meditation. In the next podcast I will discuss the use of Chakras and the tree of life from Kabbalah/Qabbalah. This is a really useful tool in allowing the Jedi learner to become at one with their surroundings and to begin to develop their intuition.

I would like to revisit the ceremonial rites again and try and not throw as much at you this time but make it straightforward.

Take care, May the force be with you...

What a difference a day makes!

• February 16th, 2009

Greetings fellow seekers of knowledge. What a difference a day really makes. I have been in Edinburgh for a day and already have had several epiphanies. It seems to be that at this time of learning new systems of magick (to me) I am undergoing a huge understanding of everything around me.

First of all I have discovered that, including present company (sadly!), that all magicians are egotistical plebs. I mean this is the nicest way. If you think about it, how on Earth can we have the balls to summon up all manner of deities and yet not look in the mirror and love who we are. For the shy, nervous or dispossessed, this is of even more importance. This is probably a good explanation as to why I am starting to wanting to encompass things that feel "right", rather than reading a book and following its advice verbatum.

Secondly I have discovered that reading aloud magickal wordsprior to use in a rite isn't always the best idea. I have hit upon the idea about the oral resonance of the words we say. This is, I assume, the fact that the words that we say everyday are fairly innocuous, however when said with intent & will (thelema) or with other more powerful deities nomenclatures, this may cause an imbalanced energy to be unwittingly released.

Thirdly, I have been too caught up in reading books and feel ready to do some magick, but I feel that in order to do this I need the right tools. I will try and acquire a wand, pentacle plate & cup. I like the idea of using props to assist in achieving the correct mindset. what I need to also do is assign my own deities of significance to the ritual, rather than the ones suggested. The problem I have here is that I am also aware that I need to follow a different set of beliefs for a while. I will let you know how this goes.

Finally, Magick should not be done, because you feel like it. It should have a key focus and a purpose. If you are casting spells to achieve things everyday, thanĀ  I think that you are missing the point. Magick should, i believe, be magickal. Therefore, using it in the hope that your neighbour won't play loud music, is a waste of magickal energy or rather a dilution of magickal energy that could be best used to effect something of more significance. Any decent magician should be able, with their ego, to ask their neighbour to turn the music down!

The next Podcast will be focusing on the basics of ritual and the application that this has in bringing balance to the force.

Take Care
